To support current businesses and encourage new business development in St. Marys. Preserve and enhance the natural beauty of St. Marys. Promote St. Marys as a destination of choice.
Vision Statement
The St. Marys Main Street vision is to stimulate Downtown Economic Development by encouraging cooperation, building leadership in the business community, and promoting a positive image for Downtown as an exciting place to live, shop and invest.
Government
The City of St. Marys operates under the council – manager form of government. A Mayor and the city council comprise the governing body of the City of St. Marys and appoint a City Manager who is responsible for the administration of all departments.
The City Council is composed of 6 members who serve terms of four years. All qualified voters of the city, voting at large, elect the Mayor and council. The Mayor serves as the official head of the city's government and presides at all meetings of the council. The mayor votes only when there is an equal decision of council members on a given matter.
